Sports Rehabilitation

Get back to your activity faster, safer and better than before
Whether you’re a competitive athlete or a weekend warrior, soreness, pain and injury can quickly derail your efforts to reach your fullest potential. So when sports injuries happen, your goal is to heal quickly, safely, and get back to the top of your game with an eye toward preventing future injuries. That’s our goal, as well, at Move Strong Physical Therapy. As experts in movement, physical therapists serve as your first line of care when you experience pain, discomfort or injury while training or competing in your sport. A thorough evaluation from a physical therapist will determine what caused your injury, setting an optimal course for treatment, healing, prevention, and performance enhancement.

Commonly Treated Conditions

  • Sprains and strains
  • Muscle pain
  • Back or neck injuries
  • Dislocations and fractures
  • Knee injuries
  • Rotator cuff pain and injury

A physical therapist will work to restore you to the competitive and fitness level you enjoyed prior to your injury, and teach you how to prevent the injury from reoccurring. Contact us to schedule a thorough assessment to determine the source of your injury, treatment options, and what you can do to prevent future issues.

Dear Patrons of Move Strong,

Our physical location continues to be closed as the MJCC, the community center in which Move Strong is located, will be closed at least until April 1st. There have been no COVID-19 cases linked to the community center, but they are doing their part in a nation-wide effort to help curb the spread of the disease by closing gathering places. Although it hurts our business and our patients, it was the right choice to make.

This morning, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has asked that all healthcare workers suspend non-essential medical visits in an attempt to preserve what personal protective equipment (PPE) we have left in the state. For this reason, beginning today, we will suspend offering home visits, and will only offer remote video visits (e-visits or telehealth) to our established patients. We can provide telehealth services to patients with Medicare, United Health Care, Cigna and Regence insurances. Call today to schedule an appointment!

During a remote visit, a therapist will use video chat to look at your movement, correct form if needed, progress exercises and self-help techniques, and provide patient education. Medicare will currently cover these visits, but private insurance coverage is not consistent and is changing daily. Remote visits are available for our usual self-pay rate if your insurance does not cover them. We will do our best to post at home strengthening activities often on our Facebook page to keep people active while at home. Please follow us at @movestrongpt

Please stay up to date with the developing situation by following the Oregon Health Authority locally or the CDC at https://www.oregon.gov/oha/pages/index.aspx and https://www.cdc.gov/ respectively.

Thank you for your patience during this stressful time. If you have questions for your therapist, feel free to email them directly. Please keep in mind we are all working remotely.

Be well,

Ariel Z Salzman, DPT, OCS, CMPT
