Dear Patrons of Move Strong,
Our physical location continues to be closed as the MJCC, the community center in which Move Strong is located, will be closed at least until April 1st. There have been no COVID-19 cases linked to the community center, but they are doing their part in a nation-wide effort to help curb the spread of the disease by closing gathering places. Although it hurts our business and our patients, it was the right choice to make.
This morning, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has asked that all healthcare workers suspend non-essential medical visits in an attempt to preserve what personal protective equipment (PPE) we have left in the state. For this reason, beginning today, we will suspend offering home visits, and will only offer remote video visits (e-visits or telehealth) to our established patients. We can provide telehealth services to patients with Medicare, United Health Care, Cigna and Regence insurances. Call today to schedule an appointment!
During a remote visit, a therapist will use video chat to look at your movement, correct form if needed, progress exercises and self-help techniques, and provide patient education. Medicare will currently cover these visits, but private insurance coverage is not consistent and is changing daily. Remote visits are available for our usual self-pay rate if your insurance does not cover them. We will do our best to post at home strengthening activities often on our Facebook page to keep people active while at home. Please follow us at @movestrongpt
Please stay up to date with the developing situation by following the Oregon Health Authority locally or the CDC at https://www.oregon.gov/oha/pages/index.aspx and https://www.cdc.gov/ respectively.
Thank you for your patience during this stressful time. If you have questions for your therapist, feel free to email them directly. Please keep in mind we are all working remotely.
